Yellowstone grizzlies are the wildlife icon of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. They symbolize the wild, rugged beauty and spirit of this cherished region. As a keystone species with a need for vast open landscapes, grizzlies tell us Greater Yellowstone is a healthy, wild place. The re-emergence of Yellowstone’s grizzlies over the past 30 years - from near extinction to between 700 and 1,000 today - provides inspiration and hope for all of us.

The next five years are an important period for Yellowstone grizzlies. With your help, the Greater Yellowstone Coalition will work hard to protect crucial grizzly habitat and reduce conflicts with humans. We will continue to be the voice for the grizzly, keeping humans safe and Yellowstone grizzlies wild and alive.

While there are more bears in more places than there were 30 years ago, we still have a long way to go to get it right for the Yellowstone grizzly. The Greater Yellowstone Coalition is well poised to ensure success, thanks in large part to our loyal donors from across the world. You make all the difference!
