Our wild backyard...
The Custer Gallatin National Forest truly is Southwest Montana’s wild backyard. It contains the Gallatins, which are the last unprotected mountain range next to Yellowstone. It is home to vibrant populations of wildlife that make our region so unique. It houses critical watersheds that support our drinking water. And recreationists of all stripes find adventure and connection on its valleys, ridgelines, and waterways.
That’s why we and our coalition partners in the Gallatin Forest Partnership are so invested in the Forest Service planning process. In southwest Montana, as more and more people use the forest in different ways, we have to take advantage of this once-in-a-generation chance to influence a 30-year forest plan.
You can help. Sign up to stay informed about opportunities to participate in the Forest planning process—we’ll let you know how and when you can speak up to protect our wild lands, our drinking water, and our recreation areas.
