Summer Outings: Citizen Science in the Gallatin

CITIZEN SCIENCE: GRIZZLIES IN THE GALLATIN - Bozeman, MT
Over the past decade grizzly bears have started to expand in to the northerly reaches of the Gallatin Range towards Bozeman where more people are moving every day and recreating on these trails. Our goal is to keep bears wild and people safe by fostering "bear aware" communities. Please join us, along with our partners Wild Things Unlimited, for a citizen’s science led effort to learn more about grizzly bears and their presence in Bozeman’s wild backyard. Volunteers will hike trails throughout the Gallatin Range looking for grizzly bear sign and collect samples to identify individuals. We will host a field training day (date TBD) for folks to learn about bear safety and how to survey for grizzly bears.
