Summer Outings: Stream Restoration in the Centennials

STREAM RESTORATION: CENTENNIAL VALLEY
In the heart of Montana’s Centennial Valley lies the Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. This breathtaking landscape serves as both the headwaters of the Missouri River and a refuge for arctic grayling and cutthroat trout. Last year the Fish & Wildlife Service invested resources in restoring a creek on the refuge to reopen valuable habitat for these two fish species. Now GYC volunteers will have the opportunity to finish the job. The work day will be complemented by an evening barbeque, camping and story time with the refuge manager who is a walking history book on the Centennial Valley!

START TIME / END TIME
GYC Bozeman office at 6:30 am; finish at 6:30 pm with an option for a BBQ dinner ($10 pp) and camping overnight.
