Citizen Science Orientation and Training Day

Please join us in an effort to learn more about grizzly bears in our backyard! This summer, the Greater Yellowstone Coalition and Sierra Club are partnering with Wild Things Unlimited for a citizen’s science led effort to learn more about grizzly bears and their presence in the Gallatin Range.

Wild Things Unlimited is a local organization that has been studying grizzly bear presence and movement in the Gallatin Range and beyond. We are looking for groups of 2-4 people who are willing to commit to at least 2 or more outings to look for bear sign along key trails in the Gallatins.

To learn more about this exciting opportunity, please join us for an evening orientation on Wednesday July 6th. Interested individuals will need to join us for a day-long field training session on Saturday July 9th to learn about bear safety and how to survey for grizzly bear sign, including finding, collecting, and preserving grizzly bear hair samples.
