EMMY REED
SENIOR DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE
Emmy oversees the Greater Yellowstone Coalition’s digital communications and online engagement, including the blog, email, website, webinars, advocacy, and social media channels. She provides digital strategy assistance for key campaigns and fundraising, plus graphic design, photography, and videography. Emmy also hosts and produces the Voices of Greater Yellowstone podcast.
Hailing from the flatlands of Illinois, Emmy’s connection to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem stems from her family’s cross-country road trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks. Upon returning home, she penned her first conservation piece on Yellowstone’s wolves in the fourth grade. With a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and history from Washington University in St. Louis, Emmy made a break for the mountains post-college and never looked back.
Her journey soon led to GYC and conservation communications when she landed this dream gig in 2018.
When she’s not at her work computer or behind the camera, Emmy can be found hiking, reading, and wildlife-watching with her husband Jeff and spoiled dog Luna, sharing The Lord of the Rings trivia with unsuspecting victims, and trying to keep her vegetable garden alive in Zone 4b.
Favorite Greater Yellowstone Animal: Gray wolf

Book or Podcast I’d Recommend: The Feather Thief by Kirk Wallace Johnson. A fascinating tale that merges natural history, birds, and true crime!
