Join the Greater Yellowstone Coalition online for an in-depth presentation on the conservation of and challenges facing Greater Yellowstone wolves.
Wolves represent one of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem’s greatest conservation success story. Today, they're not just a vital part of the ecosystem but also a boon to the local economy, bringing in around $82 million annually through wildlife-watching and tourism. Despite problematic wolf management policies, wolves are abundant in the region and now’s the time to cement their future.
GYC’s Wildlife Conservation Coordinator Brooke Shifrin will lead us through the history and ecological value of this iconic species, talk about the present challenges and opportunities wolves are facing, and wrap up with how GYC is working to advocate for science-based ethical wolf management driven by wildlife professionals instead of politicians. In her work, Brooke strives to use effective leadership, collaboration, and strategic thinking as the key ingredients to securing durable policy changes and implementing innovative solutions that benefit wildlife.
