Bear Lake County Commissioner Wynn Olsen, the Greater Yellowstone Coalition, the Idaho Conservation League, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, and the Idaho Transportation Department on Tuesday hosted staff from the offices of Sen. Mike Crapo, Sen. Jim Risch, Rep. Mike Simpson, and other regional decision-makers to tour the project to demonstrate the importance of wildlife crossings to public safety and wildlife migrations on Idaho roads.

Together with The Conservation Fund and U.S. Forest Service, the Greater Yellowstone Coalition and partners have added 161 acres of new public land near Yellowstone National Park, forever protecting it from gold mining.  

As the Senate considers a third proposal in a matter of days that would sell-off millions of acres of American public lands, the Greater Yellowstone Coalition is encouraging the six senators representing Idaho, Montana and Wyoming to unite and stand up for the public lands that drive our states’ economies, provide clean drinking water for millions of people, and critical wildlife habitat for Greater Yellowstone.  

Building on Wyoming’s legacy of land conservation, the State Board of Land Commissioners today voted 3-2 to approve the sale of the 640-acre Kelly Parcel to Grand Teton National Park. The $100 million sale will benefit Wyoming public schools and ensure this spectacular piece of land is public for Wyomingites and visitors to enjoy.
