TRACE KLEIN
SENIOR FINANCE ASSOCIATE
Trace works closely with the Director of Finance, processing payroll, accounts payable, keeping her finger on the pulse of the finances, and looking for solutions to improve GYC’s nonprofit accounting systems. She also assists the Director of Operations with human resources responsibilities.
Trace has worked in the finance, human resources, and operations fields since 2013. She loves working through finance puzzles and making processes easier for others. She is constantly looking to improve herself and the organization for which she works.
Born and raised beside the Red River in Minnesota, curiosity led her to Australia in high school, solo international travel after graduating college in the Southwest, and Hawaii on her way back to the US. Trace moved to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem from Seattle with her best friend/husband to raise a family near the mountains. They married in the Tetons and moved to Bozeman a few days later—that was over 25 years ago now! Her twin sons are now grown and out in the world, having their own adventures.
Trace is happiest when exploring on her feet, on a mountain bike, or on skis with her husband, her dog Elwha, and friends. She loves to read everything she can get her hands on, including instruction manuals!
Favorite Greater Yellowstone Animal: Raven
Favorite Book: Anything written by Terry Tempest Williams, Diane Ackerman, and Mary Sojourner
Favorite Season: Summer because the longer days give her more time to explore and play in the mountains! I love the blue skies and the multicolored blanket of earth beneath my feet.
